There are many reasons to participate in The Mini Show benefiting the Mini Lai Scholarship Fund:
  1. Your donation can help ACCD illustration students continue their studies, graduate from school, inspire their work, and build their careers.

  2. Your donation of artwork is tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.

  3. A list of the participating artists and their websites will be featured on The Mini Show website, allowing attendees to learn more about your work.

  4. At the show, there will be a designated area to distribute artist postcards and business cards.

  5. The show offers a great opportunity to network with ACCD alumni, current students, teachers, staff, gallery owners, collectors, patrons, and art lovers.

  6. The show provides a way to connect directly with many kind and generous people who support the ACCD Illustration Department and its illustration students. What better way to thank them than to meet them in person.

I. ELIGIBILITY

Because The Mini Show was created to benefit the Mini Lai Scholarship Fund and Art Center College of Design (ACCD) illustration students, we request that artwork submissions be from ONLY ACCD illustration alumni at this time.

II. ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

  1. Only “flat” artwork will be accepted at this time. We are not accepting submissions of video art, photography, sculpture or conceptual installations.

  2. Original artwork and prints are welcomed.

  3. If you’re an ACCD illustration alumnus and are interested in participating in The Mini Show, please submit the following by Saturday, September 25, 2010 for consideration:

• JPEG images of the artwork
• Artwork description (title, medium, dimensions)
• Contact info
• Suggested price of artwork (we reserve the right to set the final price of the artwork)
• Website
• Artistic Statement (100 words or less) (Optional)
• Short Bio (100 words or less) (Optional)
• Resume (ACCD graduation year, exhibition history, awards, publications, work history, etc.) (Optional)

Please email submission requirements to: submissions@minilai.com

III. SELECTION

  1. Selection of the artwork is at the sole discretion of the organizers. We reserve the right to make exceptions to the show’s eligibility requirements at any time.

  2. Because of the limited space of the exhibition venue, The Mini Show can showcase only a certain number of pieces of artwork. In the event that we have to turn away a piece of artwork because of space limitations, we’ll give first priority to that artist for the next show.

IV. PRICING

  1. The Mini Show requests that submitted artwork be valued at no more than $300. Our intention is to create a unique show that showcases the artwork of some of the most respected artists in the field and offers their artwork at a highly competitive price in today’s challenging economy.

  2. Donation of the artwork is tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.

V. AGREEMENT

  1. Artists whose work have been selected will be required to sign an agreement that allows The Mini Lai Scholarship Fund and The Mini Show to exhibit their artwork for sale to benefit the fund as well as use images of the artwork to promote the show.

  2. 100% of the proceeds of The Mini Show will benefit the Mini Lai Scholarship Fund and Art Center College of Design illustration students.

  3. In the event that the artwork does not sell, it will be returned to the artist after the show.

VI. FRAMING

To help lower the costs of The Mini Show and raise more money for the Mini Lai Scholarship Fund, we request that the artwork be framed. Because the show doesn’t have a budget for framing, we regrettably can’t accept unframed artwork. However, the framing costs can be included in the valuation of the donated artwork for tax deduction purposes. Please consult your tax advisor.

For high-quality framing at a reasonable price, we recommend:
